Salem Days

My family gets together every year for Salem Days. Brett and I had an adoption meeting to attend so we sent Ethan to the parade with Grandma. After our meeting we joined the family bbq. After lunch the ladies went to the quilt show while the boys napped. Later that night we went and watched the fire works.

Today I am thankful for family traditions.

One of our favorite places to go

When I was a little girl my Mom took me and my family to this place often. We all have great memories of throwing rocks, swimming in the water and helping each other hike to this great sight. So, now that I'm a mom, I want Ethan to experience this place and create his own memories. We have been to this place many times this year. It's called The Grotto. Its the perfect little hike for kids of all ages and its beautiful.

Today I am thankful that I realized I need to clean the lens on my camera and finally got one good shot of the day.

Happy Birthday Ethan

Ethan's birthday was on the 19th. We have had a great weekend starting on Thursday to celebrate Ethan's Birthday. I started the day off by singing Happy Birthday to him when he woke up. Singing it over and over throughout the day. Taught him how to say "I'm Two" while holding up his fingers. Leia and her two boys came over and gave Ethan a birthday balloon. He played with his balloon all day long and had so much fun. When Brett came home from work (Bummer he had to go back to work on Ethan's birthday) Ethan showed him his balloon. Brett picked up Ethan to give him a hug and that was just enough height that the balloon touched the ceiling fan and popped. The fan was on high and it just sliced the balloon open. Ethan was devastated as his lifeless balloon floated to the ground. "Balloon Pop" Luckily Grandma saved the day and brought him another. I made him a Little Einstein cake. It turned out so cute. We had cake and ice cream with my family on the 19th, a party with Brett's family Saturday and another party on Sunday with Ethan's Birth Mom and her Family. It was such a great weekend spending time with everyone who loves him and celebrating his day. I still can't believe that my little guy is two. We are so glad to have him in our family and cherish every moment like these.

Today I am thankful for the many memories of Him.

End of Summer Swim Party

We went to Aunt Pam's house for a swim party before the older kids go back to school.

Today I am thankful for fun summer days.

Date Night

A few weeks ago Brett and I went on a date with our good friends Shaun and Leia. The guys planned it all and kept it secret as best as they could. It started with we have a date on thursday, then wear a sweater to I've got the babysitter. It was so much fun watching the guys secretly plan this night. We started with dinner at one of our special places Romano's Macaroni Grill and then we took a drive up provo canyon and ended up at the Sundance Outdoor Theater. The guys did great planning this date. The play was called Big River. It was about the adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Today I am thankful for still getting all excited for date night with him.

Busy Busy Busy

Lately, we've been really busy. The end of summer parties, girls camp, Ethan's birthday, etc, etc, etc... I've been so busy that I've procrastinating updating my blog. Something happened last night that I have got to post.
Ethan has been playing so hard with his new toys he got from his birthday, that by the end of the day he is so ready for bed. As we knelt down for his prayer he spotted his favorite buddy Scout whom sleeps with him every night. Ethan grabbed him and said "Come here Scout," and was out for the night.

Today I am thankful for such a great sleeper. Ethan has always been a great sleeper. He has slept through the night since he was two months old.
