Corn Maze

For Family Home Evening last night we went to the Corn Maze.

It was so much fun.

Ethan loved finding the corn growing on the stalks and running around finding the right way to go.

We love this time of year! ;)

Moments That Matter

Lately, we have been finding more ways to create memories, time and pay attention to the things that matter most. So, Fall Break was last week. We had a few plans, like going to the pumpkin patch and  hike the Grotto one more time. Some of you may know that we are VERY much like last minute people. We just like being flexible. With an hour's notice, We packed up our trailer, headed up the canyon and went camping.  WE HAD A BLAST!

The weather was a little chilly, but that did not stop us from having a good time. Ethan loved exploring with his cousins and playing in the mud.

Todd loved playing with his new scooter/walker or what ever this thing is called. :)

Brett took Ethan fishing with Larz (Larz is Brett's favorite sub that he likes to schedule when he is away). They had a BLAST.

It is always those last minute, thrown together ideas that are the most fun and are filled with the memories that we will never forget.

Family Reunion - Catch Up

In August Brett's family always has their reunion two weeks before school starts. I was at Youth Conference Friday and Saturday, so Brett took the boys Friday night and spent the night in the tent. I joined them Saturday afternoon.

Both my Boys have always had a special bond with Grandpa

Brett took his kite. It is always a good crowd pleaser.

It's amazing how fast and how much force that kite can have.

Like a Pro - Still catching up on Summer

We spent many days in the pool this summer. Ethan started Swimming Lessons. He was the best in his class and is not afraid of anything. I am so proud of him. The Olympics were going on while he was taking his classes. One night we were watching Michael Phelps in one of his races. Ethan said "He dives like I do mom." Oh, the many possibilities this little guy has.

I basked with joy and Proudness of watching him these past few weeks. He is such a good student and really does well.

He has grown so much in the past few years. I could not imagine my life without him...

Or even these two.

Women's Retreat

For the past two years and from now on our Stake hosts a Women's Retreat for the Relief Society Sisters. I was asked to help the Stake Leaders plan this years Retreat. We had a blast planning what we were going to do, eat, play and how we could relax and make this year's retreat as fun as last year. Rosie the Riveter was our inspiration for it all. Theme was Tough As Nails.

Brett and I made this invitation. It turned out so cute.

Planning was pretty easy since women ARE Touch As Nails and we can do anything.

Women brought projects/crafts they were working on. We started a Stake Quilt Class and sewed the first block at the retreat.

Had a Book Review - The Queen Of Water by: Laura Resau. Though I did not have time to read it :( Oh well.  Played games, hiked, watched chick flicks, Split everyone up and made them do Skits (Glad we planned that, could not stop laughing), visited, ate yummy yummy treats, had a nail swap and just enjoyed a weekend out with the girls.

It was so much fun working with the Stake Leaders.
They taught me their rendition of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. HILARIOUS!!

Looking forward to next year!

Harvest

This year has been our best year for growing TONS of fruits and vegetables. I think it is because of our Beehive. We got our beehive last spring and the bee's have been pretty busy. So, we've been busy harvesting our garden. I've canned: Pears, green beans, tomatoes, salsa, grape juice. Now that I see it on paper it does not seem like a lot. But it sure has been a lot of work. Oh, but SOOO worth it.  Ethan and Todd have been my big helpers.

GIANT Apples

I want to post that we collect this many eggs from our backyard everyday and share them with our neighbors.  They vary in color and size and are so yummy. We have eight hens and one roster. Since one of my fears is rogue chickens, they are ALL under lock and key.

FALL :)

I've always had a hard time deciding what Season was my favorite. Winter is full of Holidays and SNOW :) Spring is a relief from winter, Summer is time for basking in the sun. Now we are here and it is Fall. Fall is a relief from SO many things, Hot summer days, beautiful smells and colors, and......

Family Pictures! I love taking family pictures in the fall.

We even got a cute kiss'y picture.

After thinking it over, I've come to the conclusion that it is always the NEXT season that is my favorite.
