Again

Last week was a little bit crazy around our house. Last Monday Brett came home from work with stomach pains. I just thought that he had the stomach flu or maybe even the "I don't want to go to work tomorrow" blues. By the evening he was sing the puke symphony. After a long night of no sleep and pain I called the Dr. first thing in the morning. We went to the appointment at 10:50 and after a few pokes the Dr turned to me and asked "Does he have a high tolerance of pain"? I thought NO! But just then I thought about my sweetie and said "The fact that he asked me to come with him to the appointment say's to me that He is hurting". The Dr ordered some blood work for a few tests. Their machine was down so he had the nurse run the blood to the hospital to the tested. About 15 minutes later the Dr came in and said that the test results were high enough to suspect Appendicitis and sent us to the hospital for a CT. We both looked at each other in disbelief. Then I thought I am so glad that I called Grandpa to watch Ethan the last second before we left. Brett went in for his CT and after the Dr came and said that Brett does have Appendicitis. His Appendix was swollen to a Level 2 and they usually rupture at Level 3 and that he will be having surgery today. My poor guy. This will be twice that my He has had surgery THIS YEAR. We headed over to check in at same day surgery and by 3:00 they were wheeling Him into surgery. I have never been so surprised in my life. We got out of surgery about 45 minutes later. I was a little bit nervous about how he would be feeling. I was totally expecting groggy, in pain Brett. NO, He was cracking jokes with the nurses, felt great and wanted to know when he could go home. He said he felt way better than before. We were home by 5:15. He's doing great.

Everyone at his work DID NOT believe that He had surgery. They all thought he was just trying to get out of working the last three days of school. Well, good thing He's got the scars to prove it.

I've sure got one TUFF GUY ;)

Part Two

Today we went to the Annual FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) Celebrating Adoption Walk with Ethan's Birth Mom Kirsten. Typically this event is held on Birth Mothers Day and due to scheduling conflicts we celebrated today.

Ethan was so excited to give Kirsten her rose.

Cosmo showed up and Ethan just loved giving him five and knuckles.

There were fun games to play and tons of candy to eat.

And even a fire truck to ride.

My favorite part of the day was the balloon release that represented Birth Mothers. Ethan didn't want to let his balloon go until he saw everyone else let go of theirs.

I kind of got a little teary eyed when I looked up and saw all the balloons in the sky. Knowing that one of those represented Kirsten. And then for a second I thought about our NEXT Birth Mom and let one go for Her. (and NO :( I'm not announcing anything)

After we went to lunch at Kirsten's favorite restaurant Carrabbas. It was so much fun to sit and talk. It has been a while since we've seen Kirsten's Dad so it was so nice to relax and enjoy each others company. We gave Kirsten the present Ethan and I had been working on. Before Ethan was born Kirsten and I would often go to Barnes and Noble to pick out a book for Ethan to have. Lately I can't read enough books to Ethan and he has memorized a few. His favorite book is Jack and The Bean Stalk. He loves the FEE FI FO FUM part. So we got one of those recordable books from Hallmark and I had Ethan read the story for Her. It's so cute
He absolutely loved pushing the record and stop record button. It was so much fun getting this book ready for her. I hope she loves it as much as we do.

Ethan just smiled and snuggled with her as they read it together.
It was such a fantastic day.

Easter Pictures

Easter was a lot of fun this year. We went to three Easter Parties. I keep wondering if this will be the last Easter that Ethan will casually hunt for Easter Eggs. He was so cute! There was no running or grabbing. He wondered from egg to egg, mostly curious to what was inside and was content with four or five eggs in his basket.
This picture is from our first Easter Hunt. I didn't get anymore pictures from that party because I forgot my extra camera batterie.

After that party we went to my Parents house for a party with my Family.
We colored Easter Eggs together. I let Ethan color his eggs by himself. He imediatly took his two eggs and smashed them together. LOL But he still colored them just the same.

Then it was time for the easter hunt

Chaos!!! See... why I think this is the last year of civil egg hunts.

After all the eggs were found we headed outside to watch Uncle Dave's Rockets.

Ethan loved saying "Blast Off" and watching the rocket launch into the the sky
This was a one in a million chance.

Ethan loves his cousin

That ended Saturday's events.

Sunday morning Ethan found this from the Easter Bunny

And a new favorite game (Elefun) to play
