Forget Me Not

Last saturday I jumped in the car with my Mom and Sister and headed up to Salt Lake to attend the Relief Society Conference Broadcast. I always look forward to spending some time with them. We always have a great time.

The Broadcast was absolutely fantastic. Dieter F. Uchtdorf gave another wonderful talk that pulled my heart strings. Good thing I packed my tissues. If you didn't get a chance to hear it you can watch it online - "Five things to Forget - Not" He talks about the small Forget Me Not flower. Which is my Favorite flower. I have it listed as my favorite flower on our Adoption Profile . It grows wild all over in Alaska and many other places. He talks about a German legend, God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out, "Forget-me-not, O Lord!" God replied, "That shall be your name." I couldn't help but Sob, Sob, Sob, Sob.
Then he talked the five pedals of the flower and gave us five things to Never Forget:

Another part of his talk that stuck out to me was; He talked about how being a member of the church is not an obligation,
but a pathway.
I think every Women on the Planet needed to hear his talk.
Thanks again Dieter F. Uchtdorf for all those times you have helped me fell those Tender Mercies.
P.S. I think that Dieter F. Uchtdorf is the Sean Connery of the LDS Faith. :)

Fall Is HERE

I am so glad that FALL is finally here. Fall is my favorite season. Mostly for... The changing leaves, Pumpkin Spice candles, turning the furnace on for the firs time (one of my favorite smells), I love wearing hoodies, Halloween - I think I'm going to try and make a costume of Jake from the Neverland Pirates for Ethan,

On another note. I really enjoy changing the background of my blog for each season. I really love this one. And I really like the bushel and a peck part. I've been doing bushel's and bushel's of pears, peaches etc, etc, etc, and mostly because my Mom used to sing me that song and I have been sing that song to Ethan.

Have a Happy Fall Everyone!!!

Last weekend Brett and Ethan got to go on their first
Fathers and Sons outing
Ethan was so excited to go camping with Daddy. He said "Just Dad and Ethan, You can't come Mom". While they were out roasting marshmallows and doing all of that Father Son stuff...

I went out for our Stakes Relief Society Retreat. Oh, and what a treat it was.
It was filled with fun silliness.
One of the best Chick Flicks of all time
and games all through the night.

In Remembrance of 9/11

I remember 10 years ago today. I was picking green beans in my Grandpa's garden when my Grandmother poked her head out the window and told us that one of the World Trade Centers was hit by an air plane. Honestly I did not even know there was a World Trade Center let alone that there were two. I thought "Oh no" it must just be an accident. Mostly because I never thought that the USA would ever be attacked. It never crossed my mind that it would ever happen. Then a while later my Grandma poked her head out the window again an said that the second tower had been hit by a plane as well. My Mom and I looked at each other and headed in to watch the news to see what was going on. Then we watched in disbelief the towers fall to the ground. Then we heard news of the pentagon and Flight 93. Etc... Etc.. Etc... There were people saying things like are they done. Worries about major military basis being in danger. I had a good friend that was at boot camp at the time. I was so nervous about her. Lucky she was fine. I had to go into work that day. I worked at Macey's the grocery store. It was chaos. Everyone came into the store to buy food storage, bottled water and just about anything they could to prepare for an attack here.

Tears still came to my eyes today as I thought back on that day and watched the tv documentary's about that awful day.
May We Never Forget

Pay it Forward

Lately Ethan has been having small accidents when he goes to the babysitter (just once a week for about an hour or so). My little guy usually does pretty good at making it to the toilet, but there are too many exciting things to distract him while he is at the babysitters. So I have decided to let him wear a pull up when he goes so we don't have to worry about accidents while he is there.

So during our shopping spree today I was going back and forth between Pull Ups or the new Slip Ons ... Then I noticed that someone slipped a $3 coupon on top of a Slip On box. I checked to see if it was still valid ... And it was :)

So I'd really like to make a shout out to that "Awesome Couponer" who took the time to cut out that little coupon for me to use today. Thanks So Much!!!
So next time I go to the store, I'm going to try and do the same.
Maybe it will make someone else's day.

Pay If Forward Folks :)

Labor Day Getaway

Labor Day is kind of crazy around our town. So we decided to get away from all the craziness and head up to our Cabin.
We had a blast! We went hiking
and Snipe Hunting

and Just had a great time together

Can you tell these two (cousins) just love each other?

And these two love each other too?

Ethan had BIG plans to have a sleep over with his favorite cousin. It started great, but then he said "I need to go sleep with my family". I love that little guy!!! We slept outside on the deck under the moon and stars and woke up to the sound of Elk Bugling.
That's our kind of getaway
