Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Monday night, we went to the Owlz opening baseball game with my Family.
We sang "Take me out to the Ball Game," ate hotdogs and watched the post-game firework show.
Ethan even got to wear Grandpa's Hat
They opened their season with a 7-6 win over Casper Wyoming. There were home runs, broken bats and fun to be had by all.

Ethan loved the fireworks. He sat in my arms the entire show and looked for the Biggest Loudest fire work. He could not stop talking about the game the entire drive home. He kept saying "That was so much fun Mom. Let's do it again." These are the moments that pull so tight on my heart strings.

Splish Splash

Everyday is getting warmer, the sun is getting hotter and it's now officially summer. So, We headed to the water park to cool off. Ethan had a blast splashing and playing in the water.
It's great that we have such a fun place to escape when the day gets too hot.

Girls Camp

I absolutely love my church calling and serving in the Young Women Program. How many people can say that as deeply as I??? After our "Plan A" was cancelled (due to too much snow) we resorted to our "Plan B" and rounded up as many tents as we needed. Our theme was
"Seek, Cuz It's a Jungle Out There".
We were assigned as the Tiger of the Jungle and had a lot of fun.
I am always amazed with the talent these girls have. They planned everything. You should have seen them write new words to the Eye of a Tiger song and choreograph a dance to go along.

This was the year of the "Leaders in Peril" LOL! All three of us Leaders had something wrong. Our Camp Director had a pulled muscle in her back, the other Leader had a Migraine all week and I had a pinched nerve that numbed my leg for the week. Our Girls were sweet and took extra care of us. I guess it's better to smell of Icy Hot than camp fire, RIGHT? If it were a REAL JUNGLE we would have been the first ones eaten by the lions.

We all learned a song to sing at camp. We Seek After These Things by Jenny Phillips. It is such a great song and rings so true to life.

I am so grateful that I have such a wonderful Husband that so willingly takes care of everything while I spend the week at camp. I disparately missed Ethan and Brett while I was gone. The best part was coming home.

Word Phrases and Such

While talking with my Dear Husband last night He mentioned that I have crazy word phrases that I say from time to time. I had no clue what he was talking about until He mentioned I used to say

"Spit Spot"

from the one and only

and the current one is

"Stink, Stank, Stunk"

Potty Train'in

I know, it's kind of a strange subject to blog about, But..... He DID IT!!!! Wahoo!!!!! It took about six months for Him to figure out what an accident feels like and what to do before an accident happened. I gave up so many times. We first started out with a sticker for every successful trip to the potty. It took these stickers
and these

As you can see there are many that are placed on top of each other.
Boys will be Boys!

We took him to get a snow cone for his first #2

And then there was the coveted reward toy for not having any accidents for a week.
We put "Buzz Ligher" (as Ethan calls him) on an high shelf and often reminded Ethan of what needed to be done to get Buzz out of his box.

And then one day Buzz came out of his box.
Sadly, He had to go back in his box a time or two, but now you can find him in various places around our home.

I am a firm believer that every kid potty trains when they are ready. One day Ethan came to me and said "I want to go potty in the toilet". I said "Then go take your diaper off and go potty in the toilet". He went more and more each day. I totally took a back seat this time around and he figured it out by himself. I'm so proud of my little guy.
